TWB 2021 Language Weeks

In 2021 we started a new series of engagement initiatives that we call Language Weeks. Normally, this is a series of online events that happen for one full week, in an effort to engage with the various language communities :star2:.

This is a great opportunity for the community to interact with TWB staff :man_technologist: :woman_technologist:as well as fellow volunteers, through webinars and translation contests :writing_hand:.

The Language week is also an amazing opportunity to connect with new volunteers :handshake: :earth_africa:, sharing helpful resources like Style Guides, offer profile building opportunities through Certificates and Contest Prizes :medal_sports: :gift:.

In short, language weeks are a time to get together (virtually), learn, show translation skills, win prizes and have fun :fireworks:.

So far, we successfully organised 8 language weeks to celebrate 12 different languages, namely:

Happy New Year to our volunteers, and all the best to everyone for the year 2022.

Indeed, the language weeks have been great. It has been an opportunity to be in touch with linguists in our community and to communicate on some of our initiatives. The material are there and it is a good opportunity now to have a look back at the webinar, style guide and resources made available.
