Introduction to Humanitarian Translation for the TWB Community

As far as I know, there is an online course: (Introduction to Humanitarian Translation).
And once you complete all sections, finish the final test, you can download your certificate.

We’re currently having a few issues with the testing part of the course, but hopefully this will be sorted soon

Dear Charlotte,
I’ve just completed the Introduction to Humanitarian Translation for the TWB Community course but when I click on the Take the test button I see that the test is still restricted with a message that I need to complete the test first. I have a profile and am logged in.
I see in your answer above that there are some problems with the test, so maybe this is what I’m experiencing. Do you know when these will be solved? Will I have to do the course again?

hello miss i have already created an account, and pressed enroll but what do i do after that? because all it says here is enroll then complete action then take the test. what did it mean by complete action? what do i do after enrolling?

Hello everyone. I’m also facing the same problem now while trying to take the test. I’ve completed the whole course, but the test is still restricted. Anyone managed to solve, let’s say, trying in a different device or browser?…

hi there,
i also had to take this course twice and my second attempt was successful
i have now realized i have missed a couple of things before taking the test.

click on the following for the link to take the test

The first thing to remember is, after clicking on the link, make sure you are not logged in as “guest” and login with your email or create a new account

The second thing is, make sure you click on “enrol me on this course” and confirm

(One last thing that may be releveant is that i used google chrome)

Hmm, done all that and retook the course but I’m still not able to take the test! Very frustrating. I hope this can get sorted out soon.

Thanks for following up on the test! Hmm if the advice given by @soke35 doesn’t work then there must be something else wrong

We’re still working out a solution and once we have an update, I’ll let you know!

OK, just managed to do the test!
Here’s what I did:

tried from the computer; as before I was trying on my tablet
made sure I was logged in
had to repeat the course again like 3 times, but for the last one I pressed “start from the beginning”, not “pick up from where you left”
Then finally the test was unlocked. Maybe it’s about the settings for the device specifically, I don’t know, just throwing a random non-IT-specialist guess here, don’t trust it too much, ey

I just retook the test, because new information was added since I had first taken it (CLEAR Global, Memsource) and I can confirm that I could not take the test until I clicked on the little ‘settings’ icon in the top right corner of the text box with the course’s title, then on “Enroll me”.

As you say, it is essential to enrol yourself in the course before you can access the test

We are experiencing some technical issues with the course regarding access to the final test; our tech team is looking into it and as soon as the problem is fixed we’ll let you know
