I’m Faviola, and I’ve been working as an interpreter for about three years now. Lately, I’ve felt a real calling to focus my work on helping survivors of trauma and people in humanitarian situations. I recently completed and earned a certificate as a Trauma-Informed Interpreter, which was another step in acknowledging how important it is to be sensitive and supportive when interpreting in tough circumstances.
I’m excited to join the Basics of Humanitarian Interpretation course because I want to keep growing in this area and learn how to bring more compassion and skill into my work. I’m really looking forward to connecting with others who care about making a difference through language and interpretation.
