The Translator's Toolkit

Hello @dareenalshalabi33 and thank you for writing to us.

May I know if you are still facing this problem, so I can support you further?

Thanks and good luck!

Hello everyone!
I’m somehow new here. And it’s a privilege to be part of this platform. I registered some months ago but I have now decided to be more engaged for more contributions in translation. My pair is English-French. I hope to get any advice from you all on the platform.

Thanks

Hello and thank you for your interest in supporting us! I see that your profile is all set to start with new tasks, and I see there are no English to French tasks available at the moment. But fear not, new tasks can be added any minute and you will receive a notification every day that there is a task matching your language combinations.

Hello, I’m new here, how can I look for volunteer jobs? I check my home page, but I never get any results.

Hello @samuelribeirosouza21 and welcome to TWB. We are very happy to have you here.

I have just checked your profile and it’s all set. Kindly note that the availability of tasks varies from time to time, depending on our partners’ needs. We recommend regularly checking the homepage - new tasks can be posted in any minute. If you don’t find tasks when you check the homepage, this is only because no tasks are available at the time you are looking.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any further questions.

Thanks for the information! I have a question: My language pair currently has no available tasks. Can I volunteer for another language pair I haven’t registered for yet?

Hello!

I want to complete a task in Phrase, but it’s impossible because the QA check keeps giving ‘tags and formatting’ errors for the same couple of segments. I already removed and re-added the formatting and tags about 5 times per segment and as far as I can see there is nothing missing at all. I cannot ‘ignore’ these messages, so the Complete button won’t appear.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello @Sunny and thank you for writing to us.

I cannot see that you have any in-progress tasks, so it appears that you managed to submit the task as completed. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

For future reference, kindly note that you may email the project manager responsible for the task you are working on directly and they will be more than happy to assist you.

Also, you can post your task-related questions in the thread dedicated for that task received by email.

I hope this helps.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any further questions.

Best regards,

Hello Ahmad,

Thanks for your reply. Indeed, I managed to solve it by myself and wanted to update my post, but suddenly my internet disappeared and I wasn’t able to.

It was still a hassle though. This was the only thing that ended up working:

  • copying my translation to notepad;
  • copying source to target;
  • pasting my translation back in the target segment piece by piece, right in between the English, and then removing the English without touching the formatting at all;
  • confirming and running checks again.

It would be a lot easier if formatting issues could also be set to ‘ignore’.

Hi, I have some problems with the “completed” button. I am revsing some of documents and although i have confirmed all segments, I still can’t click the completed button. Is there any extra step for that?

Dear @nadine ,
Thank you for your help and for letting us know!
Before marking a task Complete, you should run the Phrase QA functionality and solve the issues flagged there.
Please let me know if that works :slight_smile:

Giulia

Good morning,

I want to know the reason why I cannot claim a task. When I try to claim it, a message appears saying “you cannot claim this project”. All the tasks I try to claim are in spanish, and so far I’ve only been able to complete one translation. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it.

Kind regards,
Shariel

Hello Ambra,
I have just completed a task but I am not able to click on complete.
I wish to know how to solve that problem

Hello @douanlalorielle and thank you for your support.

To complete the process:

  1. Please run the QA.
  2. Address any flagged issues as needed.
  3. If any flagged errors are false positives, please mark them as “ignored.”
  4. Once all issues have been resolved or ignored, you will be able to mark your task as complete.

For guidance on running a QA in Phrase, please refer to the post below: How to run QA (Quality Assurance) checks in Phrase TMS Useful Features.

In case you applied the above and the issue still persists, please don’t hesitate to write in the dedicated thread in the TWB Community forum or directly to the Project Manager. You can find the link to the dedicated thread in the TWB Community in your confirmation email or in your “Claimed tasks” section on the TWB Platform. Check this video to see how to ask questions about a task.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

All the best,
