Translation tasks are individual tasks that are part of a project. Only one translator at a time can work on a task.
If you find a task you want to work on, here are the steps you must follow:
- Find translation tasks. The Kató Platform homepage shows tasks that are currently available in your language pairs. If you don’t see any tasks available, don’t worry - new tasks are being created all the time, so keep an eye out!
You can also receive email notifications when tasks in your language pair are available. Follow these instructions to sign up for these notifications.
Claim the task (video tutorial).
Use our CAT tool, Kató TM to complete the translation ([video tutorial]
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DyPgSXfaPY), Do’s and Don’ts, FAQs). For more information on Kató TM, please visit the Kató TM category in Kató Community.
Submit the task (video tutorial). Please remember that in order to submit your task successfully, you need to copy the task to Kató Platform from Kató TM when you have finished translating or revising.
To check if you have successfully submitted the task, you can visit your ‘Claimed Tasks’ section. From the drop-down menu, by clicking on ‘Task Status’, you can select ‘In progress’ or ‘Complete’.
If you have a question about a task you are working on, please follow these instructions to post a message in the discussion thread.
If for any reason you cannot complete the task, you can unclaim it following these instructions. This way, another translator can claim the task.
