Creating a translation project on TWB Platform

Once approved as a partner with CLEAR Global, you can make your translation-ready (282.8 KB) content available for translation directly on the TWB Platform.

Each of your organization contacts submitting translation requests needs to be added to the organization by us before they are able to log on. Please provide us with the names and emails of people who need access to the TWB Platform.

To submit your translation request, go to the TWB Platform to log in.

Make sure to have your file ready in supported formats. The recommended file types are: DOCX, RTF, ODT, TXT, XLS, XSLX, PPT, PPTX, CSV, SRT, IDML. Please avoid PDFs and images with text. Old office file formats are also not supported. Make sure to accept all tracked changes and delete any comments before submission.

Provide as much relevant information as possible about your project. We encourage you to include instructions and reference materials when creating your translation request. This additional information will help translators to have a better understanding of what the text is about, what purpose it serves, and encourage them to help you.

Please respect our Fair Usage Guidelines and make sure to post projects under 5,000 words, and provide at least 1 week for every 2,000 words. Please note that delays cannot be ruled out.

To create your project:

  1. Go to Dashboard

  2. Click Create Project

  3. Upload your Source Text file - Some restrictions apply, see our Fair Usage Guidelines and Eligibility Criteria for details. Please be mindful that content with highly sensitive or technical information, such as medical documents, is not suitable for self-managed projects.

  4. Select the Source Language and Target Language(s) - You will not be able to amend them after creating the project. A list of suitable languages for translation in the self-managed model is available here.

  5. Set a reasonable deadline - see our Fair Usage Guidelines for recommendations

  6. Select both Translation and Revision to ensure that your translation is checked by a reviser.

  7. In the Description, provide as much relevant information as possible about your project - e.g. links to glossaries, style guides and reference documents

  8. When you are finished, click Create Project

After creating a new project, please open the TWB Community link to the forum topic for your project where translators may be asking you questions. You can subscribe to the thread, so you will be notified via email when translators post a question.

You can track the progress of your requests in the TWB Platform by selecting ‘Dashboard’ in the menu. You will be notified by email when your project is claimed by a translator and, finally, when it has been completed. Find out how to download completed projects here.
