Hi, I’m Elisabetta and I’m from Italy. I studied Cultural Mediation and I am currently working in an English speaking environment. I would like to further my studies and that’s how I found this course and immediately got interested in it. Since there aren’t many opportunities to understand and learn how an interpreter should be in humanitarian contexts, I think this is a good start and can create a solid basic knowledge. My name is Napo Masike from the kingdom of Lesotho. I worked as a translator and interpreter from 2017 to about 2021 and I really enjoyed it. I currently am working as an engineer but I want to do translating and interpreting as a side hustle. I guess this will be a good course to rekindle the love I had for translation and interpretation.

My name is Lucila, I’m from Argentina, and I’m a student in the last year of the Literary and Technical-Scientific Translator career, also studying to become an Interpreter.
It was over 10 years ago that I got the chance to meet and talk with a girl from Iran thanks to internet. She was studying a career abroad and was very passionate about it, but never ceased to voice her concerns about war and her family and pets back in her home country. It was then that I realized how lucky I was to be able to know her and her story, and this was thanks to sharing a language in common.
Translation and interpretation are both key in bridging the gaps and connecting people from all over the world, getting to know their past and present, their cultures, and their situation. Being passionate about what we do could make the difference for many.
I’m looking forward to completing this course and the knowledge I’ll gain from it!

Hello from Australia. My name is Carolyne, and I’m a French to English certified translator. I’ve been doing translations for TWB for a few years now, mainly texts from Francophone aid organisations working in Africa, but sometimes from elsewhere too. I have been meaning to do one of the TWB courses for some time, since I have no formal training in humanitarian translation. I’m very grateful to TWB for providing this course.

Hello everyone! I have really enjoyed taking this course, I found it inspiring and extremely interesting. I have now completed all the tasks, however some sections seem to still have the white dot indicating that they are not marked as complete. Can anyone please tell me what the issue is?
