Interview Request

Hello,

My name is Yaren Uysal. I am a third-year Translation and Interpreting student (French–English-Turkish) at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in Ankara.

I am currently working on a final assignment for one of my courses, which requires interviewing a professional translator about their work, responsibilities, workflow, and ethical considerations.

I would love to speak with someone from the Translators Without Borders community, as I believe volunteers here often work in highly meaningful and impactful areas. Although my project does not focus specifically on crisis or humanitarian translation, I hope to interview someone whose experience is insightful and significant, and whose perspective could enrich my understanding as well as offer a valuable example for my classmates.

The interview would take approximately 20 minutes and can be conducted through any online platform. It may also be anonymous if preferred. The language pair is flexible, but I would be especially interested in speaking with someone who has experience translating in vulnerable or sensitive contexts that can be crisis-related work, medical or refugee-related settings, or any area where the translator plays a critical mediating role.

If there is any volunteer who might be available for a short interview, I would be extremely grateful if you could connect me.
