Hi!
I want to become verified for translating Indonesian> Spanish or Indonesian> English (or vice versa) but I never seem to see any tasks. After doing a search I have noticed there have been some projects in the past but I never got notified. Am I doing anything wrong? How can I ensure I pick up Indonesian tasks in the future?
Hi @tanyalwade
Iām sorry to hear you havenāt had access to many tasks recently
If you canāt see any tasks on the homepage, itās because there arenāt any tasks currently available!
I can see that your email notifications are set to Daily so you should be notified of all tasks. However, it may be that another translator claims the task before the email is sent out and so you never get the notification
I would recommend that you open the TWB platform and have a look every now and then just to check if there are any tasks!
I hope this information helps, Tanya
Thanks so much Charlotte. I cant even see any tasks in any languages other than those I am verified in (English/Spanish). Itās so frustrating Thank you for the help though!
Hello everyone,
I took the verification test 7 weeks ago and I didnāt receive my results yet, so is there something I should do?
thanks in advance.
Thanks for following up on your test! Iāve just checked and unfortunately, we havenāt got the results yet
Iāll reach out to one of our volunteer translators this week to have the test fast-tracked, and once we have your results weāll let you know
In the meantime, you do have access to tasks available to non-verified translators in your language pairs!
Thanks for your understanding and patience, Hager
Thanks a lot
Hi, I know you no longer use the verification test but I wanted to know if mine was ever processed, I took it in January. Also, I recently participated of the TWB Translation Contest during the Spanish Language Week to try to get verified faster, but I havenāt heard back from that either. I would appreciate if you have any update, thanks!
Dear Charlotte,
Hi! I hope this message finds you well. I am a verified translator ( from English to Arabic) TWB. However, I would like to widen my scope of translation. Therefore, I am looking for a test so that I can be a verified translator in Arabic to English.
Best regards,
Noamen Amara
Hi @noamenamara, thank you for your message
We no longer offer the option to take a translation test to become verified. This is because we believe that the verification system we had in place was no longer sustainable for the size of our community.
However, in this thread above you can learn more about how to become verified
Thank you for your support, Noamen - let us know if you have any other questions
Hi @aloyolaheufemann, thanks a lot for following up on your test!
Unfortunately, we had a large backlog with the tests in your language pair, I am sorry you still havenāt received your results However, we are working on clearing it up and our Senior Reviewers are doing their best to go through all the previous tests
Weāll surely contact you as soon as the results are in
As per the Spanish translation contest, we are still processing the translations received - weāll definitely share the winners and everything about it on the forum with the whole community and contact by email all new verified translators
Hi Silvia,
I have been registered on the platform a couple of months now.
So far, I have never been able to translate anything in my language pairs, nothing seems to be available.
As such, I canāt hope to access the Kato Verified Translator credential through good quality translation on Kato.
The problem is, with my current language pair, I canāt hope to have any certification from any of the mentionned associations (e.g. ATA would be great, but I am living in a place where certification tests are not hold).
As you can see, access to verification is a bit complicated. Is there any other way to be verified and participate? I hold a degree in translation and have been translating for some time, and I would love to be able to contribute!
Thanks in advance for your response.
Hi @clr.queff
Firstly welcome to the TWB community!
Iām sorry to hear youāve been unable to access tasks recently. We do upload new tasks all the time, so keep an eye out on the homepage
We completely understand that it can be difficult to access tasks, which will then allow you to become verified. Weāre aware that this is an issue and weāre working on finding a solution
All I can do is encourage you to regularly check the homepage and Iām sure youāll be able to find a task to work on soon
Thank you for your patience and understanding, Claire
Hi @charlotte1, @Silvia_Mauri, I hope you are both well, I just thought to ask you as I took the test to become verified for my Spanish into English language pair in March, and I know that TWB isnāt using the testing system anymore and so I was unsure whether my test would still be valid/correctedā¦ I just thought to ask you! Thank you very much for all of your help Charlotte and Silvia,
Thanks for following up on your test!
Weāre still processing the remaining tests and will of course let you know when the results are in!
Unfortunately, we still have a bit of a backlog with this language pair but our volunteer reviewers are working their way through them
Thanks for your patience, Elissa!
Thank you very much for your help @charlotte1! Thatās great, it is no problem for me, Iām happy to wait, Thank you very much again Charlotte
Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for you fast and kind answer.
I will keep monitoring the homepage and hope you can find an alternative solution for translators in my case with the verification process.
Kind regards,
Claire
Hello! I was wondering if someone could help me outā¦ I just joined the community and I could love to become a certified translatorā¦ I understand I need to complete a task but so far I have none on my dockā¦ is there another way I can take a test or do I just need to wait for a task to come up?
thank you!
Hi @marcediana, thank you for your message Iāve moved it to this thread where you have more information on how to become verified
I am sorry you were not able to work on many tasks recently the homepage only shows you available tasks at the time you are looking, so if you donāt see any tasks, it means that currently there are no available tasks in your language pair.
However, we post new tasks all the time, so keep an eye out!
I see you signed up to receive weekly task email notifications; if you would like to receive more frequent updates, follow these steps to edit your notification settings
Thank you for your support! Let us know if you have any other questions
Hi,
I wouldnāt think so
If your language pair isnāt available it also doesnāt show up in the drop down menus.
Hi @marvinkw, thanks for your message
I had a look at your profile and it looks complete
When you donāt see any tasks available on your homepage and your languages donāt appear in the drop-down menus, that just means that currently there are no available tasks in your language combinations - but we post new tasks all the time, so keep an eye out
I see you also signed up to receive daily email notifications, so as soon as a new task comes up youāll be notified
Thanks for your support - let us know if there is anything else we can help you with
