My name is Marcela Sanchez. I am a first generation Mexican, born and raised in Texas. My parents are immigrants from Mexico and I grew up speaking both Spanish and English and studied Spanish in high school and at my university. I currently work as a news producer for a Spanish news station in Houston where I am continuously translating documents from English to Spanish on a daily basis since most press releases we receive are in English. My passion for cultures and human rights led me to become a journalist and I am excited to expand my knowledge through this program.
